This is the time when we save every remarkable moment with our smartphones. Whenever there’s something interesting, we whip out our phones and take one or multiple pics. And though not all of us are professional photographers, you can make our captured subjects look better if you follow the tricks and hacks below –
1. Clean your camera lens
The first thing you can do to make your pictures look better and cleaner is to clean the camera lens. The lens can gather dust and dirt, which results in a low-quality image.
Keep your camera lens clean by regularly cleaning it with a soft, clean cloth. Don’t use any harsh material to clean your lens since it might scratch the lens and make it worse.
You can also use a lens protector to protect your smartphone’s camera from damage. Remember, you still have to occasionally clean over the protector to keep the glass dust-free. If you are using a lens protector, avoid the cheap ones as they will only make your photos look blurry, or dull.
2. Take photos in good light
Sometimes, no matter how good your smartphone’s camera is, it can take bad photos if the light is less than perfect.
If you want your photo to look clear and perfect, take advantage of natural light. It brings the best image quality. Fluorescent light, on the other hand, affects image quality and often causes light spots.
Lamp or light
If you don’t have good light in the environment or you’re limited to taking your photos indoors, then ensure good lighting by using a light or lamp.
One of the perks of using a lamp or portable light is that you can adjust it to get the highest image quality.
Flashlight
If you absolutely have no way to ensure good lighting, you have to resort to your phone’s flash. The flashlight can help you capture your subject when the environment is dark and doesn’t have adequate light.
3. Control the camera settings
You can get the best image quality by tweaking your smartphone’s camera modes and features.
Whenever taking a photo from your smartphone, ensure your focused object is enhanced and detailed by adjusting the exposure. To adjust the exposure manually, click the camera app on your smartphone - a rectangle or circular shape with a sun icon should appear. Move the icon to the area where you want to focus. You can also lock focus by tapping the screen to get high image quality.
4. Use the default photo editor
Smartphone’s default camera app comes with default photo editing options. While it might do the best job of editing your photo, it does the basics and if you are well-familiar with the editing function, you can get the best out of it anyway.
5. Third-party photo editor apps
Nowadays, third-party photo editing apps are doing an excellent job of retouching images to make them better quality.
There are both free and paid third-party camera apps that will help you get the best out of your phone’s camera.
Although you won’t get any higher quality images with these apps, they will help you enhance the photo and allow you to hide the flaws.
6. Rear Camera is a better option
The
front camera lets you control the photo better, however, the picture quality of
the front camera is not that great compared to the rear camera.
You can master the photography technique by practicing taking pictures with the rear camera while taking selfies.
You can change the image resolution on most Android smartphones. Higher resolution will help your image look naturally better and sharper.
